There are few things better than being told to lie down, put your phone away, and let someone take care of you for an hour smack dab in the middle of the day.
I recently had the opportunity to experience a complimentary Epicutis facial at WestEnd Med Spa, with aesthetician Jayme Sewell, who also has a background in functional nutrition and health. Jayme immediately got me into relax mode with great music, not the normal clinic-music, but a soothing playlist. She was clearly knowledgeable about her advanced treatments and the products applied with cutting edge science and technology that they have at the spa, beginning with a deep cleanse followed by dermaplaning, red light therapy and oxygen infusion, along with a customized Epicutis mask to hydrate, clarify and brighten the skin.
Discovering Epicutis
Based in Boulder, Epicutis, the luxury, science-backed skincare line that Jayme used for this facial was created by Japanese formulator Masanori Tamura and born from biotechnology research. Epicutis uses clean formulas designed to calm inflammation, deeply hydrate and support the skin barrier.
Two of its hero products are the Lipid Serum, designed to soothe visible redness and support the skin barrier, and the Hyvia Crème, which delivers lasting hydration without feeling heavy.
The collection also includes an Oil Cleanser, Hydrobiome Mist, Lipid Recovery Mask and Lipid Body Treatment. I'm particularly intrigued by the recovery mask for our dry Colorado climate and for all the travel I do.
Thank you to WestEnd Med Spa and Epicutis for treating me, and especially to Jayme for taking such good care of me and my skin. I'll be back.
This treatment was complimentary, without any requests for publicity. As always, I only share experiences and businesses I genuinely enjoy.
