What's Happening This Week in Aspen & the Roaring Fork Valley | Fourth of July Guide
Arts, Shopping & Community
The Aspen Saturday Market is always one of my favorite ways to start the weekend. Wander through locally made foods, flowers, artisan goods and Colorado products while enjoying one of the prettiest mornings you'll find anywhere.
Aspen Public Art is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Pedestrian Mall with Mall Fest 50, featuring an artist-led parade, costumes, performances, music and a community block party.
Down valley, Redstone continues its Plein Air Festival with artists painting throughout the Crystal River Valley, daily demonstrations at Joy & Wylde Gallery, and the Redstone Makers Market featuring regional artisans.
Live Music Around the Valley
One thing I love about summer is that you can hear live music almost every day somewhere in the valley.
This week includes:
- Townline Trucks in Carbondale with The Sopris Mountain Boyz, Big Daddy Dave, Bee Bop Boop and Urban Coyote.
- Basalt Concert Series featuring Tristan Trincado and the Rock & Roll Academy at Basalt River Park.
- Snowmass Free Concert Series welcomes The Texas Gentlemen on Fanny Hill.
- Bluegrass Sundays atop Aspen Mountain continue with free live music and spectacular views.
July 3rd Carbondale Wild West Rodeo Independence Day Celebration with Latigos Up
You will see a lot of flag waving, pride for our country, and patriotic decorations. And to make it extra special, the Latigos Up Drill Team, based on the Western Slopes, will be performing! You won’t want to miss this highly anticipated patriotic performance! Plus, Garfield County Rodeo Royalty will be visiting!
A Morning Dance Party... at 11,212 Feet
One event I'm especially excited about is Daybreaker on Aspen Mountain on Friday, July 3.
Imagine starting your morning with yoga, breathwork and an open-air dance party on top of Aspen Mountain before grabbing lunch and soaking in those incredible Elk Mountain views.
Only in Aspen. Must purchase tickets.
Fourth of July Weekend in Aspen
The Fourth of July is one of my favorite weekends of the year in Aspen. The entire town comes alive.
America at the Table: A Culinary Journey in The Element 47 Courtyard
This Fourth of July, Element 47 becomes the setting for America at the Table — an immersive afternoon that tells the story of a nation through food. Presented through a series of interactive chef-led stations, each perspective is rooted in heritage and rendered with care. Our team — diverse in background, united in craft — traces the story of American cuisine from its indigenous foundations to its global inheritances, from mountain ranch culture to the spice routes that quietly shaped a nation. This is the American table: diverse, alive, and endlessly evolving. Served on a plate. Poured in a glass.
Reservations available from 12:00 pm – 3:15 pm. Throughout the afternoon, expect festive touches beyond the table: balloons, face painting, and surprises designed for the younger guests (and the adults who can't resist).
Adults: $100++ | Kids: $40++
Other highlights include:
- BANDALOOP's July 4th Celebration at the Wheeler Opera House
- Fourth of July Tiki Rooftop Party at W Aspen
- The Spazmatics performing free on Fanny Hill in Snowmass
- Grace Potter live at Belly Up Aspen
- More live music at Townline Trucks in Carbondale
Whether you're celebrating in Aspen, Snowmass, Basalt or Carbondale, you'll find plenty of ways to spend the holiday with friends and family.
