There are dinners, and then there are experiences.
On a perfect early summer evening in Carbondale, guests gathered on the patio at Sprazzo for the first Aspen Real Life Supper Club of 2026, designed to bring good people together over a chef-inspired experience.
The evening began with Sprazzo's signature freshly squeezed Carrot Margarita, garnished with a dried orange and a perfectly balanced salt blend. The place settings at each table were purposely designed around shared interests and compatible personalities to encourage conversation and connection.
Table One consisted primarily of bankers, attorneys, and business owners. Table Two was a mix of realtors, developers, and pickleball enthusiasts. Table Three brought together young professionals, while Table Four included designers, art collectors, and gallery owners.
The People Behind Sprazzo
Sprazzo proprietor Chester White and Executive Chef Daniel Leon, whose passion for hospitality and food was evident in every detail delivered all the goods.
Before launching Chester's Food & Bev and opening Sprazzo—and soon Main Line Social in Carbondale—his career was rooted in sustainability, responsible management, and humanitarian work.
He serves on the Board of Directors for Food Bank of the Rockies and advises several mission-driven organizations and investment groups.
To bring his vision to life, Chester, alongside his wife Molly Lynch, recruited Executive Chef Daniel Leon and General Manager Rodrigo Ramirez to create a regional Italian dining experience centered on craftsmanship and quality.
According to The Aspen Times, Chef Daniel's culinary philosophy is rooted in scratch-made excellence. Every pasta and every loaf of focaccia is crafted in-house daily, resulting in a menu that balances approachable comfort with technical refinement.
Like a splendid fireworks display, Chef Daniel's dishes kept coming throughout the evening, each one delivering another burst of flavor and another surprise.
Chef Daniel Leon
Before dinner began, I warned everyone that Chef Daniel had a few surprises planned for the evening. That may have been the understatement of the night.
The first surprise arrived as a crème fraîche and caviar potato chip amuse-bouche, followed by a silky gazpacho served in a shot glass, a crudo featuring three different fish in a bright citrus olive oil, and a mushroom dish that had guests scraping their plates clean.
The Verdi Salad arrived family-style, featuring chicories, herbs, shaved Grana Padano, and a bright citronette dressing. Light, fresh, citrusy, and perfectly balanced.
Warm house-made focaccia with extra virgin olive oil, stracchino cheese, and balsamic quickly disappeared from the tables, followed by lightly crisped zucchini blossoms filled with ricotta and brightened with lemon. Then came one of the evening's runaway favorites: the Spaghetti al Vodka. Made fresh in-house and served with pomodoro, cream, stracciatella, basil, and Grana Padano, it earned praise from nearly every corner of the patio. For the main course, guests chose between beautifully seared scallops atop saffron risotto with crispy peas and romesco vinaigrette, elegant Parmigiana di Melanzane layered with eggplant, soffritto, marinara, basil, and Parmigiano Reggiano, or lamb chops. Chef Daniel continued to surprise us with additional offerings throughout the evening, reinforcing what many guests would later call a true culinary experience.
The evening concluded with a decadent Budino al Cioccolato topped with caramel and whipped cream alongside Pistachio Tiramisu layered with espresso-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone.
The Budino, in particular, will linger on my palate and undoubtedly pull me back for more.
