Jillian Livingston – Founder/Editor of AspenRealLife.Com

Jillian began her writing career in New York City writing for Simon & Schuster as a publicist and as a Merchandising Editor for Seventeen Magazine. She moved to Aspen in 1990 and worked for what was then called Aspen Film Festival, DanceAspen and IDCA. In 1995 Jillian met “Baddy” and got a job in film production with real people Casting Director, Dede Brinkman, at Aspen Production Services. She worked until she popped out her first boy of three. The blog began in 2009 as an outlet for stories, videos and pictures of raising three boys in a resort town.

Jillian became a family travel writer traveling around Colorado with her boys and reviewing hotels through the eyes of a mom with three boys. One thing lead to another and she became a freelance writer for luxury travel sites such as; Inspirato, Quintess, Bespoke Concierge Magazine, Destinations Travel Magazine. Jillian also was the Roaring Fork Examiner. In 2013 AspenRealLife was getting 40K page views a month without any marketing.

If there is adventure involved Jillian wants to cover it, whether it is a romantic weekend at Aspen’s “Secret” Hotel in Aspen, a girls’ getaway weekend at the Sorrel River Ranch in Moab or an eight hour drive over treacherous passes for a family ski trip to Wolf Creek.

AspenRealLife Past Interns

Christopher Gsell – College Student/Writer/ARL Intern

Christopher was an awesome intern – never afraid to put himself out there for the story. We loved his energy, intelligence and confidence, as well as his excellent journalistic capabilities. We were sad when he left us to galavant around Spain through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his Junior year.
Christopher was a member of the school’s squash team, competing against teams throughout the East Coast, eventually helping the team to its first ever national tournament birth. Christopher played bassoon in the school’s symphony band and has attended master classes at the Aspen Music Festival. He is a close follower of current affairs, specifically in regard to the United State’s role in the Middle East, and has travelled to Israel and the West Bank to experience first-hand the confluence of religions and cultures he has studied. In the summer of 2016 Christopher covered Wanderlust, the Aspen Ideas Festival, Booker T Jones, Slow Groovin’ Barbecue, The Trashmasters, and more…  He hails from Houston, Texas but resides in Snowmass, Colorado during the summers.
