The other day I was beyond exhausted. You see, I have been working on a new concept for my blog. It may be that I have figured out how to make money off of my blog without losing my quality (details soon to come).
I went upstairs to fold laundry on my bed and found myself dreaming about launching into space on a rocket. Somehow between folding the boxers and pairing the infinitesimal single socks together I must have drifted off to be awoken by my phone vibrating into my drool. Dazed and confused I looked at my phone to find a golden photograph from Wade of the place where we were married.
Our thirteenth anniversary was coming up and we had agreed that gifts were not happening. Not this year anyway. As I read the words of love on the text it registered that this was the best gift I could ever receive. The gift of true love that has surfed many a challenging wave.
Favorite Mountain Biking Trail in Aspen:
Yesterday we set off for a mountain bike ride that took my breath away, The Tom Blake Trail in Snowmass. It was almost as if somebody had lined the trails with red and gold leaves for our benefit and like one might follow a trail of rose petals to a bed lined with silken sheets, we followed the Aspen leaves to our own Nirvana.
Ok, maybe I’m being a bit poetic. The reality? In the beginning, Baddy was laughing on how completely unrelaxing it was for him to be my personal sherpa/butler/bike tech as he raised and lowered my seat, fixed my helmet askew on my head and rearranged my backpack for it to fit better. But as we rode we gelled together through forests with golden tree canopies.
Taking a snack break I told him that I felt as if I were in a movie, sitting next to my husband, a gorgeous, sweet hunk of a man, in Colorado on a ski trail lined in shimmering gold.
It was an twenty-four Karat Gold day.
Happy Anniversary to all of you who are celebrating your love this month. May it be lined in gold!!!
